Abstract

English has emerged as a global language and has become a vital tool for communication, education, and economic growth. As English is the dominant language of the internet, with a vast majority of online content available in English, it serves as an essential factor for navigating the digital landscape and leveraging technological advancements. In recent times, English language proficiency is closely linked to digital literacy, empowering individuals to harness technology for personal, educational, and professional purposes. Proficient English skills enable individuals to access information, utilize digital tools and platforms, and participate in online communities. It also facilitates cross-border collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of ideas. English is the language of international conferences, seminars, and collaborative projects. English teachers  play a vital role in imparting language skills and fostering communication abilities in students. Thus, effective English language instruction equips individuals with the communication skills necessary to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, engage in interdisciplinary research, and contribute to global innovation and development. Furthermore, English language acquisition fosters professional development, empowers individuals, and enables them to engage actively in the interconnected world. However, they encounter various challenges that can hinder the teaching and learning process. This paper explores diverse challenges faced by the language teachers and also offers innovative strategies for effective language teaching to take place.
